
The Brewhouse
Next we add the hops and boil the wort in the brew kettle. This stage enhances the beer’s flavor and aroma and gives the beer its bite; the boiling also sterilizes the brew.
From the Brew Kettle the brew goes into the Hot Wort Tank where we clarify the wort.
At this stage if you tasted the wort it would taste heavy, sweet and very flat.
It is not until fermentation that the yeast, a single cell organism, consumes the fermentable sugars in the wort and naturally produces alcohol and carbon dioxide.
